This is the web site of Michael D. Mann, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. While I was at the University, I did research in brain science and taught neuroscience to all sorts of students including medical, allied health and graduate students. During my tenure, I wrote a textbook (The Nervous System in Action) that was fairly well received by medical students. To make it more widely available, it was converted to web format. It still gets a lot of attention on the web, even though I left teaching in 2005. You will find a link to the web version below.

I've also included a link to my curriculum vitae so you can judge my qualifications. If you are interested, there are also links to pdf-file versions of almost all of my publications.

One of my hobbies is making stained glass windows and other items and various beadwork projects. If you click those links, you can view some examples of my work.

I hope you enjoy the website.

(If you are viewing the site on a phone, please note that the stained glass and beadwork pages may not display well using the Firefox browser. In my experience Safari seems to work well. Edge and Chrome seem to work well in other devices. Firefox works well in desktop and laptops.)
